A Loss of Sight of the Ecosystem

As usual, in order to notice things, one must first take an interest in them, and secondly, take the time to try to understand them.

Unfortunately, these were two things that most Espers had stopped doing, especially when it came to the ecosystem of their planet Esperia.

The extraordinary development of their civilization, thanks to the use of magic throughout the world, had made them lose sight of the very ecosystem in which they nevertheless lived.

And while, until then, their development had not been without clashes with nature, it had remained relatively moderate, as they had not yet possessed the means to go further, the discovery of magic had made it possible to reshape entire areas, transforming natural landscapes into industrial zones.

Technical achievements that the most unaware proudly celebrated, without considering their impact on the ecosystem.

An ecosystem that, like all living things, needs balance, through cycles of day and night, seasons, activity and rest.

An ecosystem that was soon to be disturbed even further by a species that would be unlike even the Espers.

A species still unknown to this day, but lacking the need for balance that is shared by all living beings.

A species created entirely by the Espers, in their endlessly insatiable quest for vanity and ego…

    Like a Fleeting Illusion

The use of magic by the Espers transformed their world in a radical way. Not only had it forever changed the ecosystem of their planet, but it had also greatly complicated their society. For although magic had allowed such systems to be created, for an Esper, on an individual scale, their senses and the reach…

    Mental Discipline

If some saw the rigor of a daily training of the mind as a limitation to their freedom, Kenko, the Shape of Health, often reminded them that good health was not only physical, but also in the mind. Thus, to rebuild Esperia on healthier foundations, it was also necessary to rethink the foundations of a…
