Addictions can take many forms.

Some are seemingly obvious, and many are aware of them: sugar-laden food, soda, alcohol or tobacco, smartphones and social media, games…

Others are less willing to be acknowledged, making them harder to detect.

hese include the commercials that keep you “hooked” on the latest products, the social media posts that showcase the “dreamy” lifestyle of a famous influencer, and the endless scrolling filled with content the algorithm knows you’ll enjoy.

The common thread? All addictions eventually affect your brain—negatively—by creating a constant craving for “more.”

In a world where we now understand our limits, where we recognize that the use of fossil fuels brought economic growth but also caused irreversible damage to the one place we all share—our planet—these addictions run counter to the beneficial flow toward a better future for humankind.

Becoming aware of this is the first step in your personal quest.

A quest to help shape a better world.
