The Shape of Time : Shala

When the whole universe was created, Shala was there—and she will remain until the End of Time. She is the most ancient and wise of the Seven Shapes, but she has no way to interact directly with the world, for she is the Present Time. Whenever people think about time, Shala, the Shape of Time, takes the form of a young girl with long violet hair.

When people begin to dwell on the past, her appearance starts to fade—as a way to remind us to live in the present moment. While the past is important, actions can only be taken in the now.
On the other hand, when we think too much about the future, her appearance transforms into that of an old woman. This serves to remind us of our mortality—not as something to fear, but as a natural part of life’s flow.

She plays an important role in our daily lives, guiding the rhythms of our sleep and the habits we build over time. Because time is limited, she teaches us to value quality over quantity, and to embrace the challenges we face, for they help us grow—through time.

As she began to fade, Shala opened her eyes. She could see the present: a world where peace was no longer the norm, a world where Eklea, the Shape of Awareness, had slowly disappeared from people’s minds. She found herself reminiscing about the time of the Ancients, when harmony still prevailed.

Tears fell from her beautiful purple eyes, and she reminded herself that there was no need to weep: the fate of the world rests in the hands of the people. As the Shape of Time, she can only hope that they will always remember—they are living now, in the present.
