Unstable Balance

For many systems, there exists both a stable and an unstable balance.
A stable balance will return to its original state even if some conditions change.
An unstable one will not.

What can we say about the climate change we now face, born from decades of an indecent ideal of a society built on “more”?

We are no longer living within a stable system, and we can only try to predict what kind of system humankind will inhabit in the coming decades.

Yet humans tend to see only what lies directly before their eyes. Some argue that if the climate crisis were truly urgent, change would already be visible, and it would stand as the top priority. So, if this is not the case, they conclude it must not be so serious. Others believe it is not their concern, assuming someone else will act on their behalf.

Responsibility rests with all of us, and the “luckier” we have been, the greater our share of it we must own.
