A Movement on Two Fronts

For the Seven Shapes, it had become obvious.

To rebuild Esperia on sound foundations, it was necessary to act on two fronts simultaneously.

The first was the systemic level: institutions needed to find the courage to impose laws consistent with shared values embraced by all the lands of the planet.

The second was the development of the StarDust by all the Espers on the planet.
For, in order to abide by laws, it was essential for individuals to willingly accept the need to make efforts, whatever those efforts might be…

And, to create laws that were truly fair to everyone, it was necessary to think long term, which sometimes required a rationality in total opposition to a rationality focused on the short term.

The world had accelerated with technological progress, but institutions had not had nearly enough time to keep up, and the gap between those who held power over the system and those who refused to accept the changes that were nevertheless necessary in the face of the physical reality of the world continued to widen.

Two fronts that required a common foundation for everyone: bringing the Shadow of the system to light, which was often reflected in its own individual Shadow.

Guruko and Simba, her platypus companion, continued to observe and learn from human society on Earth. It reminded them greatly of how Esperia was before the end of the Chaos War. Esperia didn’t become the world we know it as—one of peace and harmony—in a day, nor easily. Trying to build a world where peace would prevail was not an easy mission at all. The Element of Wind focused on interactions with others more than the other elements. Of course, being of another element like Fire or Water didn’t prevent one from leaning toward this trait, but the Espers of the Wind had the most natural affinity for it. Instinctively, they could sense the presence of their inner Shadow,…

It had been a while since we last took a look at Guruko and Simba, her little platypus companion. It can’t be done overnight

Though the discovery of the StarDust was a huge leap forward for Esperia, there was still a lot of work to do. Indeed, some Espers still couldn’t believe in it and did not accept the fact that they had within them a Shadow they couldn’t control. However, the Seven Shapes truly believed that harmony in…
