Eating and Drinking to Excess

When they wrote the Health section of One Daily Tale, the Seven Shapes were soon confronted with an issue that would return to them again and again: the inertia of habits and the strength of cultural myths.

Kenko, the Shape of Health, was aware that for most of the Espers, an abundance of food was a sign of wealth, and therefore being able to eat and drink to excess was sometimes even seen as a goal.

She worked with Vati, the Shape of Wisdom, using Knowledge as a lever to make this section more understandable to all.

“Just like all the Five Elements, Balance is required for the Element of Earth as well. This element is the most directly linked to physical health, and what you eat each day also determines what you become,” said Vati.

“Indulging in excessive eating and drinking will only be detrimental to you. It will even disturb your sleep. And you know how important sleep is, right?” she continued.

“We also didn’t truly understand the real effects of drinking until recently… It would take an entirely separate course to discuss its consequences, but there is little good about it, to be honest. And unfortunately, it has become a habit for many of us.”

As always, knowing this is one thing. Acting…

When working on One Daily Tale, Vati had the important task of creating the backbone of what “Wisdom” would be built upon. Of course, it was now understood that working with the StarDust, and learning about one’s own Shadow, was essential. But unfortunately, the history of wars between the Five Elements does not vanish so…
