Faya, the Shape of Willpower, was well known for never mincing her words and often saying aloud what everyone else was only thinking.
Like the other Shapes, she had begun applying the principles of One Daily Tale to develop her own StarDust.
She therefore had to develop her Water element, connected to Wisdom, and, to do so, she studied her own civilization, that of the Espers, through books.
One book in particular, which told of ancient civilizations that had vanished, moved her to tears.
“How is it possible for a species to be so unaware of its own mistakes, and of the consequences for its environment and for others…”
“But one thing seems clear to me now: developing the StarDust makes something possible that was not common before.”
“It allows us to say: ‘I can, therefore I think.’”
“Because until now, it was more like: ‘I can, therefore I do.’ And all of this without thinking about future generations, the resources being consumed, or the damage caused to the environment.”
“When will we finally learn from the mistakes of the past, mistakes that devastated vast stretches of land, oceans, and nature, upon which we ourselves depend?”
“We now have the ability to act differently. Why? Because we now understand the StarDust.”
“I can, therefore I think.”
